Morning Session [9:00 AM - 12:30 PM]

• Registration and casual mingling; complimentary coffee and breakfast treats served [8:30]

• Welcome and introductions [9:00]

• Strategies for effective grant writing: prospect research, cultivation, and how best to position your nonprofit for increased grant funding

• Short break [10:45 or so]

• Grant writing in action: writing exercise and deep dive into the structure and elements of a compelling grant proposal using participant writing samples

• Morning session ends [12:30]

Lunch Break [12:30-1:30]*

 

Afternoon Session [1:30 PM - 4:30 PM]

• Quick intro: how foundations are structured [1:30]

• Interactive panel discussion: audience-led Q&A with program officers from Meyer Memorial Trust, The Collins Foundation, and the Hoover Family Foundation [2:00]

• Casual mingling and one-on-one discussions with program officers; complimentary snacks and beverages served [4:00]

• Afternoon session ends [4:30]

* During the lunch hour, the training room will be closed in order to reset the seating and register additional participants for the afternoon session. Some tables and chairs will be available outside of the main room for those who are attending both sessions and wish to stay onsite. Please note that lunch is not provided at this training, but we are happy to recommend nearby options and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
